Andy Finch Monstrous Backside 180 Down under!

So another update from Finch from the Sylewars event in Fallscreek,
Australia. Yesterday was the first day of Stylewars unofficially
because boys rocked up a day early. Rumors of a 140 foot jump where in
the air. We rolled up to find a massive cheese wedge (6.3meters tall)
with a whole lot of deck. 37 meters of deck (121 feet) and a steep
bumpy ungroomed run in. Crew were checking there speed pointing it at
the massive cheese wedge. I took a couple speed runs too, but on my
third one about halfway down, I decided I was just going to hit it.
Cleared it by a bit, but was a little back seat, but now I felt I had
the speed dialed. I went back to the top to do a frontside 3 over it.
Right before the lip I sunk in the slush, bounced off the lip, and
flew halfway across the deck landing on my back, but was fine. They
salted it and I went back up for more after almost everyone had left.
Cleared it again with a straight air this time landing it. Then I hit
it two more times doing a backside 180 both times. My last jump was my
biggest. It was measured at exactly 50 meters (164 feet) Here is the
photo of it. The photographer released this photo to me only for this
update. I think two frames later will be the shot as I will be more at
the apex of the jump. You kind of have to look hard for the knuckle,
but I went 43 feet past it.
Direct words from Mr Finch....pretty sure you'll be seeing this somewhere out there in the mags and what not....

ACL

The past three months, I've been recovering from ACL surgery. It's been great...I'm serious. The first 4 days sucked big time. The suck level was high, so I needing to turn it down. Every day after that was better and better. Now I'm three months out and getting ready to surf in a couple of weeks. My PT said that if I wear my brace I should be solid. I've added a bunch of agility stuff to my workout, so it's not all pumping iron. I'm considering becoming a professional iron pumper in the future, however. It's a quick turnaround these days, gotta have a back up plan. Weightlifting is great. I don't think it's boring at all. I just think about skiing the whole time and it flies by. All of the sudden I'm at 1,000 reps and I don't even know it. Just kidding, I would never only do 1,000 reps...that's lame. But really, being at the gym isn't all that bad. All I can think about these days is skiing. Passion is a good motivator. Other than that, I've been enjoying the summertime here, breaking glass, and getting stoked for winter. The breaking glass part is for mosaics...that's fun too! I bought a bunch of plates the other day with cool designs and just to take a sledge hammer to them on my deck. It's a good way to pass time, I guess.

Andy Finch Update
The last couple weeks have been busy ones. After getting back from Chile, went straight to Mt. Hood to ride with the Sweep stake winners for Honeycomb and representing the Collection. Then off to Ohio for one of the stops on the flow rider tour (standing wave) at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky. I would ride with the competitors then do a signing. A week later I was in Alabama at the Waterville water park in Gulf Shores doing the same thing. I have a couple short clips that I hope to post on go211.com with in the next week Internet service provided. I am now in Australia doing a few comps. Qualified 2nd in slopestyle at the Ripcurl Pro straight off the plane and hoping finalsgo on tomorrow weather permitting. The Australian Fructis open is next week.

Thanks Scott from Tahoe Daves
A city councilman in Utah , Mark Easton, had a beautiful view of the east mountains, until a new neighbor purchased the lot below his house and built a new home.
The new home was 18 inches higher than the ordinances would allow, so Mark Easton , mad about his lost view, went to the city to make sure they enforced the lower roof line ordinance. The new neighbor had to drop the roof line, at great expense.
Recently, Mark Easton called the city, and informed them that his new neighbor had installed some vents on the side of his home. Mark didn't like the look of these vents and asked the city to investigate. When they went to Mark's home to see the vent view, this is what they found... (see attached pictures) ...

An oldie, but a goodie
