January 4th 2007 Storm
Quick update: the storm is blowing in pretty hard over here at the office. Looks like the bulk of the energy will show up in just a bit and could make things go from bad to worse. Reports from friends out on the roads are that many roads are flooded and the winds are only making it worse. Once we get into the snow end of things we should see some pretty interesting road conditions. I am leaving the office pretty soon to aviod the cluster of drivers trying to sneak into Tahoe before it gets any worse. If you ain't here by now, don't even try and come up, chain controls are everywhere and the report from the emergency management office is that 80 will shut down at some point today, don't know when but it will halt traffic. All plows will remain at garages until the storm has let up and don't expect your street to be plowed until late in the day Saturday or at all... Grab some beers, a movie and stay indoors until all the avi controls are done.
