Victory Juggernaut Squashed by Squaw Jerks
The Porters Softball Victory Juggernaut endured a painful loss at the hands of The Long Ballz on Thursday night in Tahoe City. Many Long Ballz players have gained reputations during this season for their zany outfits, bad breath, and suspiciously muscular physiques. Long Ballz came to the field with a "Golf Pros & Tennis Hoes" theme, along with high blood alcohol levels. Luckily many of the Porters crew is friendly with this bunch of characters, and came to play without their normal bag of dirty tricks.
In the early innings the teams traded the lead several times. Big B, in his final game this season, started Porters out with a homer. Later in the game, Nate B. would add two of his own, and Gaines (aka. The Banana) scored an in-the-park, as well. All of this offensive paled, however, compared to the efforts of the Long Ballz, who enjoy a well-earned reputation for offensiveness, and offense. Ralphie B., Nile, Jackson, and others were fully on their game. Adam "Coach" Ruscitto also did some good hitting, though no one will remember that due to his late-game error at short. too bad, Coach.
In the end, The Ballz dominated Porters, winning by a healthy margin. Still, it was a fun game that everyone enjoyed, including the Ump, who seemed to like the trash-talking between the two vocabulary-rich squads. Until next time....Ballz.
