I'm Not Gonna Do What Everybody Thinks I'm Gonna Do....

After five years of beers, tequila, crashes, broken skis, several sets of stitches, lots of cork footbeds and way to many ski boots fixes, and just generally good times, I'm leaving Porters. To those who thought it would never happen, I say, well... almost.

It's been a wild and fun ride, but now it's time to move on to another position elsewhere in the industry. All I can say is that I've had an unbelievable time working here, I've met a lot of great people, and probably pissed off many more. When I moved to Tahoe in October of 2003, I walked in the door of Porters looking for a job, and aside from the decision to move to Tahoe in the first place, it's been the best call I've ever made. From the end of season parties to trips down to Vegas for SIA; from tent sales, CL Smoothes, and fourth of july roof parties to hot dogs and Mama C's tamales, I'm going to miss the fun times; and I am going to sincerely miss working with every single person in this company. Fortunately, I won't be going to far. Even from my new position I'll still be able to hear Alex getting irritated, Eleanor shouting for Josh, and new warehouse employees hitting the side of the warehouse with the forklift.

So in celebration of the place I've spent an awesome five years, and the people who have made it so badass, here's a small collection of the pix I've accumulated over the years. It's a fun little flashback to a time when some people had longer hair, some had different colored hair, and some just looked thinner, regardless of their hair length or hair color [at that particular point of the season].

I present to you all, the 'Adventures of Porters: 2003-2008', in no particular order. Enjoy....

To everyone at Porters, thanks again for a great time...

Segal...you sound like...should I dare say and Adult? You John are a part of what Porters is today, and always will be. When I look back at people that have made a difference for me personally and for the company
your name isn't shy of the top. And I thank you for that. You will do a bang up job, I know it, we all know it. Best of Luck

You know that I am going to miss you. I do have a couple tamales for you, but thought you would lose them if I gave them to you last night. Let me know when you will be in the office so I can bring them. I really do hate to see you go, its been fun.
Best of luck,

-mama
