Why Buy Volcom?
Because since it’s conceptual beginning by founders Richard “Wooly” Woolcott and Tucker Hall while on vacation at Kirkwood, south of Lake Tahoe, California in the Sierra Nevada mountains during a major snow storm cycle in 1991 it has remained true to its roots and mantra – Youth Against Establishment.
I mean what other quarter of a billion dollar company has its founder and still single largest shareholder attend all of their trade shows…..in really, really wacky “themed” clothing?

Yep….that’s Volcom’s circus ringleader Wooly on the right and our Northern California Volcom sales rep and 2007 Billabong XXL “Wave of the Year” winner Kenny “Skindog” Collins. If you’re not totally familiar with Volcom’s trade show strategy, it’s pretty simple. Think of high school “Spirit Week” or homecoming skits. Think of Will Ferrell in “Old School.” And think of Halloween. Every trade show they come up with a different skit / theme and take it to the extreme. The theme doesn’t have anything to do with the style of the clothing they are showing (thank goodness), rather it’s just a reminder of the anti-establishment roots that Wooly founded Volcom on.
This year’s them if you couldn’t tell??? Vee Haw!
