Jake Burton Carpenter Wakesurfing Lake Tahoe
Jake Burton Carpenter Wakesurfing on Lake Tahoe from Chappy on Vimeo.
I was going through my computer last night and found this gem of a video clip. This was taken in the summer of 2006 on Lake Tahoe's west shore near Sunnyside Resort.Jake Burton - yes that Jake Burton Carpenter from Burton Snowboards - flew in to Truckee, CA a few summers ago for a meeting with the Northstar-at-Tahoe folks to put the final touches on the Burton sponsored, feature-rich zone called "The Stash".There was a couple hour window after his meeting and before he had to fly down to SoCal, and our Burton sales rep Laurent Vrignaud wanted to squeeze in a quick cocktail at Sunnyside Resort on Lake Tahoe's west shore.....and Jake's first wakesurfing session.
The weather was less than ideal as it was cooler temperatures and a bit windy in the afternoon, so we went around the corner from Sunnyside to Hurricane Bay and made the best of it. This is behind my 2005 Malibu Wakesetter 23 LSV.
So while Jake didn't have the time and conditions to really dial in a good wakesurfing session, he nonetheless was able to throw the rope in the boat on the third run and, "Check it off the list baby!"
