At first glance, this video is far from impressive, but I thought I would share my excitement for wake surfing. Yesterday, Chappy took Kathy, Alex, Jason and I out for an AM wake surf session on Boca. I have wake boarded before, and while that is still fun, wake surfing seemed like a new fun challenge. Last summer, I gave it the ol’ college try, but ended up drowning my sorrows in tequila shots at Chamber’s Landing after trying to rip my finger off with the rope. This time was much more successful. Alex, the manager of our Porter’s Truckee store, coached me through my first pull. OK, actually this video is my second pull, since the first one I took a face plant upon take off. It was easy to hear the tips and instructions that he called out to me. While I am still trying to get the feel for moving around the wake, I was stoked to be in the water without the rope. I hope to try my hand at wake surfing again very soon!
