Riding Powder in Squaw's trees
The past 9 days have seen storm after storm hit tahoe. They have been small, but a few inches here a couple inches there has finally added up, and yesterday it was awesome. At the top of KT-22 there was probably close to a foot of windbuffed cream cheese overnight on top of the already soft snow. There were drops, windlips, and gullies ripe for slashing. I rode KT till 2 in the afternoon then decided I wanted some fresh tracks, so I headed to one of my stashes.
I sometimes think that riding fresh creamy powder through the woods is the most fun form of snowboarding. Responding to the situation as it comes and squeezing through tight chokes and buried trees throughout the run is always fresh and exciting. Had a great afternoon riding powder in the woods.
