2011 YES Snowboards

I feel that a lot of people do not want to believe the hype, well trust me when I say believe the “hype” behind YES Snowboards. When I say hype I do not mean it in a tight pants kind of hype, or a triple xl tall tee kind of hype, I mean it in a going back to the roots of snowboarding kind of hype. I set down with Chad Perrin, marketing director for YES, Niedecker and Jones Snowboards. He gave me a 1.2.3 of YES and where they are headed for 2011. Chad says they are pushing their marketing focus towards their team. YES has put their dollars in with Absinthe for the 2011 season, so the video will essentially be a video catalog for YES as it will feature each YES team rider on YES boards.
YES has five boards that they are offing up for the 2011 season, The Dudes, a true twin with the cam rock and asymmetrical sidecut ( deeper side cut in the heel side). For 2011 the graphic is also twin and it features the dudes in history that said “YES”!

Next up for 2011 is The Hand sign board, a regular camber twin board, this is also Tadashi Fuses board. It has a narrower waist and according to DCP it is being pushed as a women’s board …speaking of women’s boards, ladies have no fear DCP told me that YES is working on a women’s board for 2012.

Next in the line is the YES Optimistic, this is DCP’s board. It is a directional board with YES’s cam rock reverse camber. Gotta say I am a fan of the graphic on this board.

Next up are the YES Basic and Typo. Both twin tip with popular cored, but the Typo comes with the cam rock, but if you like the Basic graphic you can get the 161 with the cam rock as well.
Speaking of DCP..ok a while back I was talking about him. Well I got to sit down with DCP and have a chat about YES.

This guy is so pumped on snowboarding that it makes me want to push the shit out of this company. We talked about back in the day when pros like Tarquin Robbins and Noah Slasneck were killing it and how the fun was there. We talked about how he is “addicted to pow “ and that he wants to carry that mantra through the company. DCP is super pumped that “people are very stoked and YES”, and coming from a retail stand point I can agree with that as we cannot seem to keep them on the shelf
