Goggles, goggles, goggles 2011 Goggles to be exact

Goggles, goggles, goggles. Round two for me today was goggles. First stop was Oakley, now I wasn’t able to sit down with the marketing or production folks but Josh Hoyer, our local Nor Cal rep was on hand to chat with me about what Oakley has in store for 2011. After a stop at Oakley I headed over to Von Zipper to chat with Marketing director Greg Tomlinson, umm who by the way takes the cake for dude of the day. Greg is so excited about Von Zipper and I am pretty sure life in general that it makes you want to pee your pants laughing.
Unfortunately I am kind of biased when it comes to goggles, I have been rocking Oakley for years, the A Frame to be exact so a stop in the Oakley booth was a pleasure none the less! We started off going over some new pro model signature colors from Shaun White, Danny Kass and Teje Haakonsen. Shuan White’s new color way will be debuted at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver here in a few weeks. In true Shaun White fashion his Oakley A Frame has pinstripes like previous years, but this year it is a bit more bold then before, coming in a bright red. Danny Kass is one funny guy ,his new color way on the Crowbar is complete with a nickel bag goggle strap bag. Terje’s Oakley Splice color way was based off his Arctic challenge outfit, a mountain man with trees growing out his shoulders. On a quick side note Oakley Signature models go two years before the pro’s get a graphic/color change….unless you are Shaun White! With that being said on the ski side of Oakley the only new goggle is from JP Auclair. Let me be the first to say that his goggle is the shit.
From SIA day one
It is a Oakley Crowbar with the Alpine Initiative color way. Let me tell you why I am fan..http://www.alpineinitiatives.org/cms/index.php is a group founded by Jp and a group of friends. Through their donations 100% goes to “create and nurture a sustainable environments and communities”. 100% of Jp’s portion from the Alpine Initiative Oakley Crowbar
From SIA day one
goes to creating their vision. This is not the only goggle that Oakley hads in the line up to help the greater good, there are actually two more. Sherry McConkey helped design the McConkey Crowbar where 10% of the sales go to Sherry and Ayla. Next up is a Oakley Stockholm collab. This collab is between Oakley and the http://www.youngsurvival.org/community/.
From SIA day one
The YSC is an organization for young cancer survivors, proceeds from the goggle go straight to the YSC.

Next up is the man of the day Greg Tomlinson with Von Zipper. Let’s kick off VZ with the Skullcandy Collab.
From SIA day one
This is Von Zippers third year with Skullcandy and this year the headphones come with a kit, complete with Von Zipper Feenoms and Skullcany Lowpros or you can purchase the skull candy Lowpro separately. Von Zipper loves the collabs, this is also their fifth year with http://www.b4bc.org/. I asked Greg how much went to the http://www.b4bc.org/ org last year and he said almost $10,000, gotta save them boobies! New for Von Zipper in 2011 is the FUBAR goggle
From SIA day one
, now to see this goggle in person you would say holy flashback, The Von Zipper Fubar cylindrical lens that makes this goggle super flexible and comfy to wear.
I haven’t made it to Electric or Smith yet so I will report back tomorrow with more goggle s and pictures…stay tuned.
