Well, I hate labels and corporate titles, but around Porters the proverbial “buck” does stop with me – John Chapman – and my family that owns the majority of this company. Just to point out, though, another handful of key buyers and managers also operate as minority employees / owners. On top of that, another dozen or so employees have a long-term stake in Porters just like a 401(k).

The point being that this IS NOT your typical company.

From myself all the way down the line, everyone that works for Porters understands that the only reason why we have jobs in the first place is because of YOU – our customer. For almost 50 years since our first shop in Tahoe City started selling skis – and for over 25 years now of supporting snowboarding – we have been here to not only provide you the gear and clothing that you need out on the hill but hopefully to pass on just a little bit of the Tahoe mountain stoke that we’re lucky enough to live every day.
