Q.How Long have you been boarding?
A. I’ve been boarding for 12 years. I grew up skiing, funny story, I challenged my mom to a race on skis and she beat me. I was so crushed from losing to my mom I took up snowboarding.
Q. What are the pros and cons of filming video parts?
A. It’s awesome being able to board on what you want when you want. It’s also really cool not having a set agenda for the season, I can pick up and hit the road any time the snow is good elsewhere. I usually just go film with my friends and goof off, so most the time filming is just me and the dudes having a good time. It’s deffinently getting harder to film though. The level of boarding has gone up big time, so sometimes you end up getting yourself into some scary situations.
Q. Who have you filmed with thus far?
A. I grew up hanging out with the Neoproto crew. That taught me a lot about filming, and it was super cool ending up in the bonus features of a couple of their movies. Other than that I’ve done a little with Autumnline and Color TV. I’m working with Color TV again this year, and thus far it’s awesome. It’s good times every time we go out and film, and we’re on the road a lot more this year, so it should be exciting.
Q. What snowboarders inspire you?
A. Mikey LeBlanc, Travis Parker, Gigi Ruff, Darrell Mathes, the list goes on and on. I really like watching everybody snowboard because everyone does it so differently.
Q. What do you enjoy boarding the most?
A. I love riding everything! Park, pipe, powder, as long as I’m on a snowboard I’m having fun. Snowboarding has always been my favorite thing, and as long as I’m sliding down snow I’m going to have a good time.
Q. What are your goals for snowboarding?
A. Have fun! My only goal is to enjoy snowboarding as much as I can. I board almost every day in the winter, and I coach at High Cascade Snowboard Camp all summer, and I’ve never gotten sick of snowboarding. I want to snowboard as much as I can and as long as I can. My only other goal might be to show people how much fun snowboarding is. Weather it be through coaching or filming, I want to portray to people how much fun snowboarding is and that everyone who can should get out there and board.
