Is Mother Nature Setting the Stage?

A quick look at some models this afternoon and it seems as if Mother Nature might finally come around to giving us some love. The GFS remains to be the most bullish on the idea of a few consecutive storms, possibly starting at early as Friday night. Looking at the GFS and ENSM PNA forecast, they both go negative by Tuesday and stay negative for at least 14days. We are currently in a very strong positive PNA pattern, so going negative and eventually strong negative means the pendulum is about to swing the other direction. Even the 6-10 day and 8-14 day outlooks are showing below normal temps and above normal precip for the dates Dec 12-16 and 14-20.
This all looks and sounds good, but we'll have to wait and see if it all comes together. What I can say is the broad scale features that point towards unsettled conditions in the Sierra are starting to take shape. Stay tuned.
