Will December 13th be the day?
12/5/08 10:00am
Might there be dark clouds and storminess at the end of this bright, sunny, warm tunnel? There might just be. Models are starting to show a pattern change around December 13th. Today's GFS runs are pretty bullish on a storm cycle starting Dec13/14 and lasting for 2-3 storms (or 5days). This bullish scenario is not shown in all models, in fact some have the very strong Hudson Bay low that is currently keeping the central and eastern USA under winters grip staying put. (which keeps high pressure off the west coast @ 140w=not good for snow lovers) What we need is for the GFS model to be the shinning light and let the blocking high in the Aleutian Islands build, sending storms right into CA.
Until then, more of the same. Sunny, warm, inversion=BLAH!
