Mellow

10/20/09 4:40pm
High pressure building into the region as yesterday's energy shifts East away from the Sierra. For the rest of the week and into the weekend high pressure will dominate with slightly above normal temps. Dry and warm is the call with high temps ~mid 60s in Truckee, mid 50s @ 8k, and morning lows around freezing, upper 30s @8k due to the intensifying inversion and light winds. The inversion will not get too strong due to energy moving inshore into the PacNW which will bring some breeze to Tahoe and some high clouds over the next few days.

Longer range, questions arise after the weekend as to what will happen to Typhoon Lupit in the Western Pacific. There is a slight chance of the moisture and energy becoming extra tropical, which could get caught up in the PacJet bringing the West Coast of the USA another shot of heavy precip. Time will tell......

Enjoy the perfect fall weather, fall colors and all time mountain biking around the Tahoe Basin.
