It's Good Out There
Lake Tahoe Area Weather and Snowpack Information
2/7/10 8:52pm
Consistent light snow over the past few days has left fantastic conditions throughout the Sierra. Since Feb 3 there has been ~19" @ 8k. Mid winter perfect.
Break between systems tomorrow as a low pressure system drops out of the GofAK into the PacNW. On Tuesday said low will move down the CA coast. Exact track tbd, and hence snowfall amounts are uncertain. Right now, we are not looking at anything major, but a clearer picture will emerge tomorrow. Expect snow Tues-> Tuesday night. Shortwave ridging returns Wed/ Thurs as another trough is forecast for Friday. Longer range shows the next chance for significant precipitation on/around 2/18.
Temps will be in the upper 30s in Truckee with low 30s @ 8k to being the week, trending a few degrees warmer late in the week. We'll see if this forecast doesn't change 2-3 times in the next five days.
