Refresh
Lake Tahoe Area Weather and Snowpack Information
2/23/10 7:46pm
The refresh button is currently being pushed. It will be pushed again on Friday. 1-1.5' along the TSC tonight->tomorrow morning accompanied by strong S-SW winds gusting to 90+mph tonight backing down to 65+mph by afternoon tomorrow. Up to one foot can be expected at lake level in Tahoe City. Snow showers will linger into the afternoon along the crest. In Truckee 6" or so as it is a bit warmer tonight and snow to water ratios are lacking at the moment. Snow levels should bottom out below 5000' by morning. Wednesday highs near 40F in Truckee, upper 20s @ elevation and breezy.
For Friday, good news as there seems to be less/ no splitting of the system with the low pressure possibly gunning straight at Tahoe. More to come, but as of today we could be looking at 3-4' of new snow along the crest between tonight and Saturday.
The next week of skiing should be sick. Thursday it will get a bit warm, but only for a day. Looking beyond Saturday, Sunday should be dry with another system early next week.
Have fun these next few days. Ski fast and take chances!
