Brrrrrr...
Lake Tahoe Area Weather and Snowpack Information
3/8/10 8:58pm
Big news for Tuesday/ Wednesday will be the cold temps. Nighttime lows near 10F, and daytime highs topping out in the low 30s in Truckee, 20s @ elevation. Winds will be breezy at times as a few weak impulses bring chances of precip to the Sierra. Tonight a few inches of new snow are possible in areas where scattered showers deliver. Tuesday will feature clouds and sun turning mostly cloudy with snow developing in the late afternoon/ evening. Ridge winds will get back to 70+mph from the W-SW Tuesday night. Wednesday will be cold with a slight chance of light snow. Total accumulations by Wednesday night along the Tahoe Sierra Crest won't get much better than 6-8".
Moderating temps late in the week. Possible chance for precip/ higher elevation snow Friday night-> Saturday. Next week looks spring like with temps in the mid 50s in Truckee. It will sure feel different after the time change Saturday and warm temps a few days later. The end of March is on track to bring another shot of winter. Spring is not far away......
